The big San Diego Comic Con is over and we expect things to calm down just a bit in the world of shipping. Marvel has some heavy hitters this week with the final issue of Stephen King’s Dark Tower title and the 3rd issue of the ass-kicking World War Hulk and Thor #2. We’re curious about DC’s Metal Men #1 and another issue of Justice League of America. There is also a decent amount of toys and such shipping this week! We’ll see you to discuss the week in pop culture at 6pm on Wednesday for Comic Day Repartee!

Much to our surprise we got a little package from Lesportsac this morning that seems to be the first of our shipments of Fall tokidoki handbags!  Todays allotment contains a variety of bags, purses and wallets featuring our favorite pattern to date, Tutti! Oh wow, we really love the cover for the new Buffy the Vampire Slayer comic! For those of you who don’t already know, Joss Whedon has been writing BTVS Season 8 in comic book form! There is some other goodness this week. Jim Lee and Frank Miller squeeze out another All Star Batman. Ashley Wood gives us Tank Girl #2. We are blessed with an Invincible AND Walking Dead this week. If you’re not reading World War Hulk, you are missing out! Come chat about this stuff at Comic Day Repartee! That’s our Wednesday night comic lounge social event! 6pm to 8pm! Yea!

Sure, you can trade with the store any day of the week but sometimes you need a bit more. That is why we have announced our monthly open trading parties! Bring anything you want and trade with whoever you want! Bring blind box figures, bring large vinyl, bring your own artwork and custom figures … there is no limit! We’re not very Otaku at Überbot but we are old school anime junkies. There isn’t much for us to get terribly excited about these days but there are rare exceptions. One of them is a remake of the classic Japanese TV show, Neon Genesis Evangelion! This series is at the top of our list for shows that can be redone. It was a best and worst in many ways so there is much that can be improved to solidify Eva as a true classic. “Rebuild of Evangelion” will consist of four movies. The first three movies will be an alternate retelling of the TV series (including many new scenes, settings, backgrounds, characters), and the fourth movie will be a completely new conclusion to the story! It all starts this summer in Japanese theaters! This is certainly something to keep an eye on!

The internationally celebrated artist and Central Florida local celebrity, Phil Noto, has just released a new hardcover artbook! We just got it in today and it is extremely impressive. Most artists collect a few years worth of art to place in their sketchbook but Phil has loaded his new book with completely new artwork! There isn’t much sketch in this oversized hardcover. It’s a pretty ho-hum week for new comics this Wednesday. We’re looking forward to World War Hulk #2 most of all. Truth be told, we’re big fans of the Hulk as a character but we rarely enjoy his comics. World War Hulk is an exception so far. It’s filled with great art,curious story and, most of all, loads and loads of smash!!

This morning 22 new tracks were added to the radio überbot network playlist. This one is just a favorites collection of a wide variety. Enjoy a track from the last Supergrass album, Road to Rouen.
