Überbot is proud to host our 5th blank figure contest and it will be our biggest one yet!  Oh yes, the Munnyocalypse on September 20th 2008 will be the most rockinest of all Munny contests and it is open to anyone and everyone who would like to explore their creativity and be a part of an Überbot gallery show!  There is no age limit.  Just pick up the blank figure that is the focus of our show known as a MUNNY!!  This year you can choose any MUNNY you want!  8-inch, 20-inch, MUNNY Mobile, you name it!  If it’s a MUNNY we will take it!  Be sure to bring your A game.  Our previous contests have raised the bar for quality and originality!  Get all the details here!!

What a week for comics!  Batman fever is still covering the globe.  SDCC is this weekend.  Many of you are going so have a good time and be safe.  Bring us back cool sketchbooks! :)  Also, you’ve all been waiting for it and this week is the week!  Uncanny X-men 500 and all its multi-cover madness has arrived!!  They will sell out quickly so come in today if you want one!  Finally, a special nod to Dan Brereton’s Noctornals Carnival of the Beasts One Shot.  Dan is one of our favorites and his work is always worth a look!

Happy Comic Day Ya’ll!  Today’s shipment lacks any heavy hitters but features a ton of smaller titles and a few mini-series.  This is certainly a Batman week with Dark Knight releasing in just a few days!  So we’ll highlight Batgirl.  This new six issue series will take Cassandra on an intense, personal journey involving friends, family and foes!

Phil Noto is not only a beloved comic artist, he is also one of the most popular artist to ever show art at Uberbot!  His once a year events always sell out within minutes to locals and fans who fly in to have a chance to purchase a “Noto Girl”.  Today, for the first time ever, we have a Noto piece available outside of an official art event.  The beautiful “Kitty” is a perfect example of Noto’s best work and measures a whoppin’ 36 x 48 canvas!!  Amazing!  Full image after the Jump!

It was a packed house at Überbot for Let Them Eat Pancakes : The Hellboy Art Show!!  Thank you to everyone who came out to see the 40+ pieces of art inspired by Mike Mignola’s Hellboy as brought to you by artists both local and international from backgrounds ranging from comics to street art!!  We had to get inventive with wall space on this one and every inch of our walls were packed with inspiring works.  We are very grateful to the dozens of artists who created such beautiful and fun pieces.  Great praise to each and every artist is well deserved!!  Thank you to Erica and Dark Horse comics for supplying the free Hellboy goodies.  Thanks to Jim Carchidi for taking some cool photos.  Thanks to Pete and Shane for your love and music.  Thanks to the Orlando Sentinel for coming out and covering the event.  And, again, thank you to everyone who came out to support the show, the artists and your friendly neighborhood Überbot.
