We know you’ve all been waiting, so here is our brief Dark Knight review!! ;)  This time we’ll break it down by Überbot Team member!!  Read them all after the jump!!

Steve says : It took me a few days but I finally managed to find a block of time to see Dark Knight and on an IMAX screen!! Let me say, I really hated every Batman film prior to Batman Begins.  I believe every bit of media outside of the animated Batman series has been the most prominent symbolism for the BAM POW comic perception that the average person has about the genre.  I’ve heard people say that Dark Knight is the “least comic” comic movie ever made.  I will say that Dark Knight is the “Most Comic” comic movie!  Those of us who read comics know that they are far more dark and gritty than they are cheesy.  From that point of view, I was very proud of Dark Knight.  From every other point of view … it was the coolest thing I have seen in a good long while!!! Easily the best superhero film.  I really enjoyed most every second of it.  The IMAX experience was beyond expectation.  I might never see a movie in the theater again unless it is IMAX.  I expected to be underwhelmed by Heath Ledgers Joker but I was surprised at how perfect it was!  The Joker scared the poopy out of me!  The potential death of hundreds of people was always possible with his character. Rarely do you believe that in a superhero movie.  Harvey Dent was flawless and his Two-face design is straight out of the better comics.   Gary Oldman IS Commissioner Gordan which speaks greatly to his endless acting talents.  Truthfully, I can’t complain about much.  Applause to Mr. Nolen for directing another impressive movie and tripling the intensity he had with Batman Begins.  I don’t know how he is going to top this one!!  And, again, if you haven’t seen this one on IMAX - GO NOW!!

Sandra says : Batman, what can I say? It was good, but was it really Oscar worthy? I’m not really sure. The dark knight and all his wonderful toys were entertaining as always and Bruce’s playboy persona really showed in this second film, which was fun. As for Ledger’s Joker? I really wanted to connect with the him, and though his introduction was perfect, I was left wanting something more to hang on to. That zany madness of the Joker I loved seemed to give way to the darker insanity, which was fine, just not what I’d hoped for. On the other hand, Two-Face, great! I loved the way his character developed through the film, the tension of the love triangle that eventually lead to his unraveling was fantastic. So there you go, my little review on Dark Knight. Maybe not the greatest, but definitely good.

Mike says :  so like many of you, (at this point, probably all of you.) i too was crammed into the confines of a dimly lit theater ready to be wowed by, what will undoubtedly be the biggest film of the year, the dark knight. if you noticed i used the term “ready to be wowed” and not “being wowed” by the dark knight (here’s where we queue the torch bearing masses clamoring for my death), because frankly… i wasn’t. please let me preface what’s left of this paragraph by stating, i liked this film. i really liked it, it was a solid movie. that said, did i feel it was worth the over abundance of accolades i’d read prior to it’s release? not by a long shot. i guess you could say that i fell victim to my own inabilities to keep the hype out of my head. maybe hearing things like ”the greatest comic book film yet” and “greatest villain of all time” got to me. maybe it was a case of my mind building a film no caped crusader could live up to, but i have to think that i’m not the only one who came away feeling underwhelmed. now, for the sake of those of you who haven’t seen it yet, i won’t go into specifics, but if ya wanna battle over this and defend the dark night… bring it! i’m at the store monday and tuesday nights.

  3. Hey guys,

I saw Batman: The Dark Knight on Saturday and it totally did not disappoint!!!! It was a great addition to the new Batman Movie series and Chris Nolan did an excellent job!!!!

Heath Ledger was rock solid, and made you forget that it was him. What a great tribute to his legacy as he is the Joker. Jack who??? I mean this lived up to all the hype in my mind and then some.

I thought that Christian Bale is probably the best batman ever, with a swagger as Bruce Wayne and enough grit to pull off the DK superbly.

I think the rest of the ensemble was extremely strong as well, and I think this captured portrayal Gotham to date!!!

Gotham was finally given an identity, shot mainly in Chicago, it really felt like a character in this movie. I like everything that was done in this and I am excited to see it again and even try to get down to the IMAX to see it. . . what a great movie!!!!
