Just a small heads-up. All that crazy rain last week did a number on our lines here in the Winter Park Village. We’ve had some outages of our internets and phone connections. Most seems to be fixed and we’re happy to say that credit cards can be processed again! However, there are still a few little bugs and blackouts here and there. If you experience one in trying to contact us, we apologize.
The final new book day of August. Oh, sweet Zeus, please let August come to an end!! Let it go out with a bang and there are some good books to read this week! Runaways relaunches anew with Volume 3 #1! Personally we’re excited to reread the last few years of Daredevil with the massive Hardcover Omnibus. Check the list below for more good reading!
We’re not going to tell you how important this election is because every election in our lives is important. If you aren’t registered to vote, we are here to help! This Saturday we’re hosting a voters registration drive! If you or your family or friends need to sign up, please join us at Uberbot this Saturday from noon to 4pm! Rainy Comic Day!! It appears this Tropical Storm is hanging around for another day but it doesn’t appear that it is going to slow down the mighty UPS! Comics are expected today and our comic lounge night, Comic Day Repartee, will go on as planned! Screw this rain. Come and hang out with us tonight! Oh, and we’re highlighting Fear Agent this week. If you’ve never read it, we aren’t telling you to pick up the latest issue. However, you’ll want to grab the first couple of graphic novels for this series. It is a must read.

Lately our attention has been heavy on the PS3 and maybe it’s because beating Uncharted on Crushing mode is really really hard!!! If your a PS3 junky, hit us up! Seriously, this weather really sucks. We don’t want to close early today but a Tropical Storm is about to hit and everything around us is closing up shop. So, with regret, Uberbot in the Winter Park Village will be closing early today, Tuesday the 19th. If you were planning on heading over in the storm, we’re sorry to not be here. Comic day! Loads o’ good books today! New Secret Invasion - Astonishing X-men - Hellboy - Angel After the Fall - Fantastic Four and more!! Even the Watchmen trade is back in stock this week! That Watchmen trailer really got you guys all amped up!! That is all we have to say this week. We’re unusually tired right now and that makes it difficult to write something worth reading.
August is going to be a bit quiet for one main reason - September is going to be freakin’ HUGE!! Not one, not two, but THREE massive and unique events in one month!

Completely unrelated, the phrase “rule of thumb” is derived from an old English law which stated that you couldn’t beat your wife with anything wider than your thumb. How strange is it that people still use that term? We at Uberbot do not condone the beating of wives. We’re just sayin’.
