For many of us, 2008 is the toughest year of our lives. Some of our friends and loved ones are art war and wondering why. Jobs are being lost left and right. Bills are getting tough to pay with gas at almost $4 a gallon and rising. Our homes have lost their value. Much of the world looks down upon our country … oh man, we can go on and on. This is a scary time both in business and personal lives and much of it is related to politics. Is it wise for a business to get involved? Most probably not. However, Überbot isn’t just a place to buy and sell goods. It is a part of the community and culture of our town and these things are greatly effected by the political landscape. With so much at stake, this year is truly the most important year on so many levels. We need our economy back. We need to rebuild a sense of self and our standing in the world. To us, there has never been a clearer choice.

The message of Hope that follows Barack Obama has expressed itself in the streets with the most amazing art movement. Überbot would like to continue this movement with your help! We are asking artists to send us their Obama artwork. We will pick the most impressive work and make sure it gets out into the world so that all of our words and feelings are expressed. Be active!

Last night was the night of firsts. It was our first store-wide sale, our first group art show for painted work, our first event put together in just a week, the first show we had during a thunderstorm and the first show in the freakin’ dark! That’s right, boys and girls. A little over an hour into the evening the power in half of the Village went out! Many of you stayed and enjoyed the art by cell phone light and purchased items with cash. About 50 minutes later things kicked back on and we rocketed towards our sales goal and beat it by more than double!!

Thanks to everyone who came out and supported us and this last minute event! You guys are all amazing and we’re happy to have you as part of our store!! Thanks to everyone who got the word out. Thanks to the talented artists of the evening and those who supported those artists by purchasing some of the best work we’ve had in the shop. Thanks to Jim for trying to take some photos when it was pitch black. Thanks to Pete for the tunes. Thanks to Kevin for the stilt walking and dirty balloons. Thanks to Dan, Lindsay and the Orlando Weekly for sponsoring the event. Thank you Shirley for the Sacred Heart of Steven Cake. Most of all, another thanks to everyone who came out. We had fun and we hope you did as well.

Due to the power outage - we’ll announce winning raffle numbers online tonight.

Note: If you missed out on the seeing all of the art, most of it is available for viewing and purchase RIGHT HERE!!

How do you know when you’re in love? Is it the little burning in your gut or excited flutter in your heart? Is it when you can’t stop thinking about something every second of every day? That’s how we feel about Erik Jones … or, at least, his artwork. Erik has brought in 3 paintings for this Saturdays show and they are all amazing, to say the least. Not to mention, his prices are reduced from his standard costs as an extra bonus for this fundraising event! Prepare yourself! A few people are going to get very lucky at this show.

Victory - The Art of Phil Noto is behind us now. We hope all of you who made it out enjoyed the art, food, people, music and love that was showered upon you via Uberbot. Thank you, of course, to Phil Noto who has produced his second amazing show in our shop. It was certainly the quickest sell-out of an art show ever with every piece selling inside of 10 minutes.  We hope to do it again!! Also, thanks to Shane for the tunes - Pete for the promo assistance - Jim and San for the photos - and everyone who helped spread to word of this event and all of our other shows to your family and friends. We are thankful for your help in building a stronger sense of art culture in Central Florida! See you at the next event!! Photos after the cut!!

The internationally celebrated artist and Central Florida local celebrity, Phil Noto, has just released a new hardcover artbook! We just got it in today and it is extremely impressive. Most artists collect a few years worth of art to place in their sketchbook but Phil has loaded his new book with completely new artwork! There isn’t much sketch in this oversized hardcover. It is filled with 48 beautiful color pages. Enjoy his sense of retro design and sexy ladies. Stop into an Überbot near you for a sampling or take our word for it and pick it up today!!

Hail the Pumpkinfist

We received a special little treat today. Our good friend, and rising art superstar, Terribly Odd is known for creating some of the most unique characters the world of art has to offer. Today the day belongs to the Pumpkinfist and his hideous mitts of meat. This one-of-a-kind Odd original is on a heavy piece of 4×4 foot wood! Pumpkinfist is too large and heavy to be added to our online store but we wanted to show it off to let our local friends know that he is now in-store and available for sale! This photograph doesn’t do it justice but you can see the full piece right here!

Oh yea, and it is worth noting that Terribly Odd T’s are now official for sale in our apparel section! Rock it!
