The final new book day of August. Oh, sweet Zeus, please let August come to an end!! Let it go out with a bang and there are some good books to read this week! Runaways relaunches anew with Volume 3 #1! Personally we’re excited to reread the last few years of Daredevil with the massive Hardcover Omnibus. Check the list below for more good reading!
Rainy Comic Day!! It appears this Tropical Storm is hanging around for another day but it doesn’t appear that it is going to slow down the mighty UPS! Comics are expected today and our comic lounge night, Comic Day Repartee, will go on as planned! Screw this rain. Come and hang out with us tonight! Oh, and we’re highlighting Fear Agent this week. If you’ve never read it, we aren’t telling you to pick up the latest issue. However, you’ll want to grab the first couple of graphic novels for this series. It is a must read.
The first comic day of August! Is this a day of celebration?? Sure, why the hell not. Completely unrelated, the phrase “rule of thumb” is derived from an old English law which stated that you couldn’t beat your wife with anything wider than your thumb. How strange is it that people still use that term? We at Uberbot do not condone the beating of wives. We’re just sayin’.

What a week for comics! Batman fever is still covering the globe. SDCC is this weekend. Many of you are going so have a good time and be safe. Bring us back cool sketchbooks! :) Also, you’ve all been waiting for it and this week is the week! Uncanny X-men 500 and all its multi-cover madness has arrived!! They will sell out quickly so come in today if you want one! Finally, a special nod to Dan Brereton’s Noctornals Carnival of the Beasts One Shot. Dan is one of our favorites and his work is always worth a look!
Let us thank the 4th of July for a Thursday new book day this week. But, no worries, Diamond has made up for the one day delay by throwing us some great titles! For those of you in a Hellboy mood there is a new BPRD comic called The Warning. Marvel keeps it going with Secret Invasion #4. DC brings the Batman with Jokers Asylum The Penguin #1. Not so bad, eh? Happy July! This is going to be a big month for the comic world with all of the great movies coming out, an onslaught of quality books, and don’t forget our Hellboy art show! The month is starting off with some great releases! If we had to pick one title to highlight, it would be Astonishing X-men #25. Why? New Comic Day!! This week the hit NBC television series Chuck comes to comics as Chuck Bartowski and his friends are about to take the world by storm—literally! Why highlight this book?
